Distinguishing characteristics, birthmarks, tattoos : Caucasian male. Gray hair, brown eyes. Hilliard is bald on the crown of his head, with gray hair on the sides. He smokes cigars and chews on them. His left shoulder twitches. Hilliard is illiterate.

Information on the case from local sources, may or may not be correct : Hilliard was last seen when he went to visit his wife at her nursing home in the vicinity of the 200 block of south Newtown Road in Norfolk, Virginia. He had visited his wife at least once a week for the past nine years, but he never visited her again after February 23. He has never been heard from again and his case remains unsolved.

A missing person is a person who has disappeared and whose status as alive or dead cannot be confirmed as their location and condition are not known. A person may go missing through a voluntary disappearance, or else due to an accident, crime, death in a location where they cannot be found (such as at sea), or many other reasons. The situation, uncertainties, and lack of closure or a funeral resulting when a person goes missing may be extremely painful with long-lasting effects on family and friends.
